Pesya Altman was born and raised in Israel, where she studied Art History at the Hebrew University and studio art in Bezalel Academy. Pesya moved to USA in 1989 to live and work in NYC. Her most recent shows include: “Finding Inspiration” two artist show at MMSU Joplin MO (2023) “Here I Am” group show in Starta Arta Gallery NYC (2023), “9 For 19” at the First Street Gallery NYC (2023) “Portrait International” at the Li Tang Gallery NY (2022) “Humanity’s Many Faces” at the Orenda Art Works (2021)
Pesya's work is primarily figurative, mostly oil paint and acrylics on canvas and paper. Pesya draws with pencil, charcoal, pastels and ink, and is also interested in collage.
She is inspired by daily life, nature, traveling and living in different places, and influenced by art history and cultural references.
