Stranger in Paradise: Uprooted from my native land, I embarked on a journey that immersed me in unfamiliar landscapes, vibrant colors, and a new interplay of light. This transformative experience profoundly shaped my artistic expression. Between 2010 and 2019, I sought refuge in self-created imaginative realms, grappling with my place in the world and the pervasive loneliness and otherness that often accompany the immigrant experience. My collages emerged from this profound introspection, each commencing with a self-portrait, my image anchored against a backdrop of my own making – an escape into a world of my own design.
